Barishal chased down Rajshahi's 198-run target in 18.1 overs, with Mahmudullah smashing an unbeaten 56 off 26 balls to guide the victors home. Kyle Mayers had earlier produced figures of 2-13 in three overs for Barishal, while Yasir Ali struck an undefeated 94 off 47 balls for Rajshahi, though it turned out to be in vain.

The 11th edition of the league features seven teams, with Chittagong Kings, Dhaka Capital, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders, and Sylhet Strikers being the other five. This season's BPL has a double round-robin format, with 46 matches to be played across three premier venues: Dhaka's Shere Bangla National Stadium, Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, and Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

This season marks a notable absence, as Comilla Victorians, the most successful team in the Bangladesh T20 League with four titles, will not be participating.

The second match of the day has Rangpur Riders meeting Dhaka Capital at 6pm IST.

These two teams are meeting for the first time in the tournament in group stage.

Hannan Shahid was named the hero of the match for his spectacular double.
