Having already qualified for the play-offs with eight successive wins since the beginning of the tournament, Rangpur Riders could not chase 171 and were bowled out for 146 thanks to a superb four-wicket haul from Ryan Burl.

BPL 2024-25, Match 5: Taskin Ahmed's Seven-Fer Helps Durbar Rajshahi Beat Dhaka Capitals By Seven WicketsBatting first, two of Rajshahi batters stood out with their hitting. Opener Sabbir Hossain slammed a 19-ball 39 and Yasir Ali in the middle order smashed 60 off just 32 balls to take Rajshahi to 170/9 in their 20 overs. Khusdil Shah and Akif Javed picked up three wickets each for the Riders.
The target of 171 was made tough for Riders straightaway as they lost three wickets in the first overs. Saif Hassan and Nurul Hasan did contribute with some quick runs but once Ryan Burl's leg-spinners started landing, it was all over for the Riders. Burl picked up four wickets in his four overs for just 22 runs and cleaned up the lower-middle order of the Riders to bowl them out for 146 in 19.2 overs.
The win is the fourth for Durbar Rajshahi with six losses and they are fourth in the points table currently. Rangpur Riders meanwhile have already confirmed qualification to the next round.
