Filipinos are known to be good singers. Some people associate it with the love of karaoke sessions and the deep cultural connection to music that runs through the heart of Filipino family gatherings. Not just that, in every community event, singing won’t ever be missed.

Over the years, Filipino singers have made a mark in every competition they join. There’s Broadway icon Lea Salonga for Miss Saigon, among others, whose powerful voice earned her international acclaim and a Tony Award.

And recently, Sofronio Vasquez made history as the first Filipino and Asian to win “The Voice.”

His performance was so powerful that it left the audience and judges in awe, earning him a standing ovation.

What makes Rodelle’s achievement even more remarkable is his personal journey. He shared that he overcame a lifelong stutter to confidently share his voice with the world.

Growing up with a speech impediment, Rodelle faced challenges in expressing himself verbally. But he found solace and confidence through singing.

“I want to inspire other people, especially all the stutterers in the world,” he said.

Singing became his way to communicate, allowing him to connect with others in a way words alone could not.

As a nurse, Rodelle has often sung to his patients, brightening their day with his melodies. He believes that music has a special way of reaching people, offering comfort and emotional support in times of need.

Data from the Bureau of the Treasury (BTr) showed the combined gross domestic and external borrowings of the government amounted to P174 billion in August, up by 40.3 percent from last year’s P124.05 billion.
